Friday Fun

When it comes to me, you go on red and stop on green. What am I?

Friday Notes

  •  Last Friday Fun: Which 3 numbers have the same answer whether they’re added or multiplied together? Answer: 1, 2, and 3
  •  On Friday, February 12, we will be having our Valentine’s Day party. We are asking each child to make some kind of Valentine box for collection of their cards. They can use shoe boxes, oatmeal containers, ice cream pails, or whatever they wish. Everyone enjoys looking at each other’s boxes, so try to make them original! They can be brought to school anytime the week of February 8th along with their Valentine cards for the school.
  •  On Thursday, January 28, we will be going on a field trip to the Mill City Museum. “An architectural masterpiece overlooking the Mississippi, Mill City Museum has become a downtown Minneapolis landmark. The museum, built on the riverfront amid ruins of what was once the world’s largest flour mill, is rich in history. Students learn about the history of the flour industry, the river and Minneapolis. Our engaging field trips include the lesson of your choice, a self-guided scavenger hunt, the award-winning Flour Tower show and the “Minneapolis in 19 Minutes Flat” movie starring local storyteller Kevin Kling. “ The schedule is as follows: 10:00 Baking Lab: Field to Table Students experience the journey of wheat from field to table, learning what’s involved with producing bread. Students bake biscuits from scratch and examine artifacts. 11:30 a.m. Lunch 12:30 p.m. Scavenger hunt, Flour Tower show and Movie If you are interested in coming along as a driver/chaperone, please let Mrs. Hein know.

For the Record

What do you want to be when you grow up? Matthew: A paleontologist (Teacher’s note: Maybe he and Patrick will start their own Christian paleontology department!)
