Friday Fun

Strange Laws in the U.S. Georgia: You must eat chicken with your hands. In Gainesville, Georgia, also known as the Poultry Capital of the World, chicken must be eaten with the hands instead of a fork and knife. This law was intended to be a prank, but at one point the local police department jokingly created an ordinance to make it official.

Friday Notes

  • Today is the end of the fifth grading period. Report cards will be sent home on Monday. As always, please keep the report card, sign the envelope, and return it to school.
  • Today applications were sent home for the 2023-2024 school year. If you plan on returning in the fall, please fill these out as soon as possible and return to school. If for some reason you are not going to send your children, please let us know that as well so that we can plan accordingly. We are doing a lot of planning for next year and it will be helpful to know as soon as possible what our enrollment is looking like. Your speedy cooperation is appreciated!
  • The warm weather has brought out the summer clothes for school. Please make sure that your children are dressed modestly before they leave the house in the morning. Please particularly watch the length and tightness of the shorts/skirts. Thanks!
  • Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran High School is holding its annual Visitors’ Day on Friday, April 28. The 7th and 8th graders will leave for Eau Claire early that morning and return late that night after the 7:30 performance of the spring play, The Westing Game. Stay tuned for the final details.
  • We will be going on a field trip to the Oliver Kelley Farm in Elk River on Monday, May 1. The orientation starts at 11:00. More details will follow. We already have two volunteers to drive but will need seats for nine more students. If we can fit those nine into two more vehicles, that would be ideal. If you can help out, please let Mrs. Hein know.
  • Upcoming singing dates:
    • o Sunday, May 21 – Confirmation, 10 a.m.
    • o Sunday, May 28 – Graduation, 9 a.m.

Let all that you do be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
