Friday Notes

  • We will have our Valentine’s Day party on February 14. The children are asked to make some kind of Valentine box for collecting the cards that will be shared. It does not have to be fancy. About a week before the party, Mrs. Hein will email a list of all of the children’s names so that no one gets left out. If you have any questions, please speak to one of the teachers.
  • Please take note of the next Sunday that we sing. It is changed from what is on the school calendar.
  • A personal note from Mrs. Hein about the student fair: Hopefully you have all heard about the student fair from your children by now. The older your child gets, the more work is expected of them when it comes to the fair. This often causes a lot of frustration and headache for both students and parents. Sadly, society isn’t really teaching our children much about hard work and responsibility which is an extra reason why going through the student fair process is so important. My own six children went through this process throughout their years here at Grace. Just about every one of them that has been to college so far has expressed gratitude for having been required to learn how to write a research paper and present their topics in public. The work is not as overwhelming if your child follows the schedule laid out for them. Mrs. Bergstrom has done a tremendous amount of work in putting together the folder of examples and expectations. Please make use of that if you have questions and contact Mrs. Bergstrom or Mrs. Nelson for grades K-2 if you have further questions. The student fair is scheduled for Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m.
