Friday Fun

Hilarious Homophones

Friday Notes

Answer to last week’s Hilarious Homophone: What vegetable is essential to good music? Answer: The Beet (beat)

  • IMPORTANT: Box Tops for Education will need be mailed in at the end of October. If you have been collecting these at home, please send them to school next week!
  • Our memory work recitation has not been going very well lately. Just as a reminder, the hymn is recited on Mondays (all grades), the Bible passages on Wednesday (grades 1-5; kindergarten on Thursday), and the Catechism on Friday (Thursday for kindergarten). The 6th-8th graders know when their Catechism memory work is due. Some may ask why it is so important to learn memory work. Why do we care so much? We do this so that the children have God’s word at their fingertips. They may not always have a Bible available, but you cannot take away their memory. The hymns that they learn are based on Biblical truths and these are helpful to know as they go throughout their lives. Please either help your children with their memory work (it’s good for the parents, too!) or make sure that they are spending time on it.
  • When the children sing in church, please remember that this it is a worship service. Because of this, please refrain from taking pictures or video of the children’s hymn. The service is discreetly recorded and is available on the church’s website (JustifiedByGrace.org) if you would like to have a recording of their singing.
  • The weather changes a lot during the day at this time of year, so please make sure that your children are dressed appropriately in the morning and that they have the proper outerwear for recess. Please refer to the laminated thermometer that was handed out at the beginning of the school year.
