Friday evening will be our Good Friday service. The children should be here by 6:40 p.m. They will be reciting and singing. Sunday morning is our Easter celebration. The day will begin with the Easter breakfast from 7:30 – 8:30. The children will warm up at 8:40 and the church service will follow at 9:00 a.m. The Christian Day School children will be singing two hymns and reciting.

Sunday, March 27 (Easter) – Sing and recite (9:00a.m.)
Each week the students are required to recite hymn stanzas, one or two Bible passages, and a portion of Luther’s Small Catechism. Recently, it seems as if memory work has not been important, as several students have struggled more than usual or not known their memory work at all. Learning God’s Word is one of the chief reasons that our school exists. Children are able to absorb and remember often much better than adults, so it is an excellent time for them to be committing to memory God’s Word. They may not always have a Bible or hymnal available to them, but whatever is in their memory cannot be taken away. Please, please, make memorization of God’s Word a priority in their day. If they spend 10-15 minutes every day on their memory work, then when it comes time to recite, they should know it. This is important!
